I think most of us can agree (sorry lactose intolerant friends) that cheese is one of life’s most coveted pleasures. Vermont, being well known for its dairy industry is also well known for its cheeses. Cabot, is one of the biggest names in cheese from our humble state.
Stowe, Vermont is a great destination for everything VERMONT, including a fantastic Cabot cheese annex right next door. Located along Vermont’s Route 100, the Cabot Annex Store is a favorite stop or destination. The annex is actually in neighboring Waterbury, Vermont but truly just a hop – skip and a jump from scenic Stowe.
What can you expect when visiting the Cabot Annex Store? Did I mention the cheese? You can browse a huge selection of cheese and other Cabot products. Try before you buy! The annex hosts a giant tasting bar to sample almost all of the available cheese before you commit to your favorite. Wash down you cheese purchases with a Vermont microbrew, hard cider or wine from the fantastic selection available. In addition to Vermont wines the annex also offers a handpicked selection of wines from around the world. Vermont cheese and a great bottle of wine … sounds like a win.
While you are shopping, stop by the Lake Champlain Chocolate store, Danforth Pewter and the newly added Smugglers Notch Distillery tasting room.
If the annex makes you hungry for more take a trip to the Cabot Visitors Center. Just 45 minutes east of Stowe in Cabot, Vermont you can find the main Vermonty Cabot facility, learn all about the history, cheese making process and take a tour of our cheese-making facility.
