Winter in Stowe, Vermont

“First of all, living in Stowe is like living in a snow globe. The village is idyllic, almost movie set worthy. I appreciate that many of my views around town are postcard perfect.”

— Ryan Thibault, owner, Mountain Bike Vermont

Stowe is a town that makes Vermont feel like a dream, like a wonderland of landscape, like a postcard. Known as the “ski-capitol of the east” Stowe is also a destination for non-skiers. Come and ski Mt. Mansfield, the tallest peak in the state, walk the unique mile long ridgeline, cozy up by the fire inside one of Stowe’s many resorts, visit the 200 year old village and snack, sip and dine one of the many notable restaurants in town. Whatever your pleasure, Stowe is an idyllic winter retreat.

What does winter mean to you? Are you an adventurer, hitting the slopes, ice climbing, hiking under the winter sun? Or, do you prefer a cozier experience? Do you catch up on classic literature, drink copious amounts of cocoa, snuggle by the roaring fire in your slippers? Or perhaps you are somewhere in between and an afternoon snowshoe followed by a delicious glass of red wine and cheese plate is more your style. I definitely fall into the later category!
